The Role
I had a lot of fun at this internship. The office is great, the program was well organised, the people were friendly. Great experience!
You're given real projects to work on from the very start, so what you do matters more than at other places.
The open nature of Bloomberg means you can go and ask a manager for assistance at any time. Everyone is assigned a mentor who'll review your progress and look after you, and there's always support available if needed.
There's always a lot to do, so you have to be prepared for it to be pretty frantic.
I was allows to mostly manage my own project: I chose the order to complete tasks, and the best method of doing so, and could even make up some of my own stuff to work on.
My degree is quite vocational around my internship, so the skills I learn were useful both for a future career and the rest of my degree.
The Company
Bloomberg has a professional environment, so don't expect madness, but it's bright, colourful and open and people are usually happy to spend a moment chatting or joking, so long as they can get back to work right away!
It really shows that Bloomberg has run internships before - they set up events, ran socials and intern competitions, and generally put everything together like a well-oiled machine.
The company provided training at the beginning of the internship, and further informational and training sessions throughout the entire program.

I received and accepted a job offer!
The Culture
The other interns on the program were great people, and there were enough of them that it was easy to get along. There were social events set up by the company, and by the interns themselves.
Central London is unfortunately an expensive place to live, work and socialise.
It's Central London - there's not much more to say.
Bloomberg offers a huge number of opportunities for events, including volunteering and the company summer party to which interns were invited.
