The Role
I enjoyed my placement greatly, I extended beyond the 12 months and didn't want to go back to university.
In no way at all was I made to feel like 'just the intern'. They had to make contingency plans to cover my abscence when I left.
The support and guidance was there when I needed it, which was not often.
I was never bored, there were occasions that I had to work a few long days.
Leading 5 graduate engineers 5 months into my placement, I think that's quite a bit of responsibility.
Self management was definitely the most valuable thing that I learnt, and Excel.
The Company
Friendl, chatty and open. You could go up to anyone and ask for help.
HR were a bit misinformed, the team I worked in slotted me in seamlessly.
I got the opportunity to have training on the job and also on courses.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I received sponsorship as well as the opportunity to return there.
The Culture
Regular nights out.
City prices, however that does bring with it the perks of being in a city: good entertainment
Central Bristol.. The nightlife is as expected.
There were opportunities to play sport, get involved in STEM projects.
