The Role
Internship was very well organised. I was given a project to work on throughout my internship, which involved learning now programming languages and techniques. Barclays put a lot of time and effort into their interns to make the experience and enjoyable and valuable as possible.
Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the internship.
Each intern has a buddy as a primary support contact. However, everyone in the team In which I was working was very approchable and more than happy to help out.
Very. I had a challenging set of objectives to complete that required me to work consistently hard throughout my internship. We also had intern events to attend, which were enjoyable. Intern events included multiple talks regarding various new technologies, an afternoon of volunteering and a sports day type event where all of the interns competed against each other in teams. There were also numerous socials organised out of working hours.
A lot. I worked on a programming project throughout my internship that was going to be used in the production environment.
Received excellent skills and training that will be useful throughout my career.

The Culture
Yes. Interns organised extra social events. Went out for lunch with other interns a few times.
Expensive, but Barclays helps out with accommodation for those who need it.
Pretty good. Lots of bars in Canary Wharf.
Yeah, my team played 5-a-side football every two weeks and there are a huge number of social and sport clubs within Barclays.
