The Role
The Open Day was filled with a variety of engaging activities, from shadowing trainees in departments to undertaking a business group exercise and having drinks with employees across the firm.
As I was there for the Open Day I was not able to undertake any work independently, however I still found all employees extemely approachable and welcoming.
We were given a useful timetable detailing what we would be doing during the Open Day.
As there was a lot to learn about the firm and plenty of activities had been organised we were very busy throughout the Open Day.
As I was only there for a day we naturally weren't given responsibiltiy for any work, but definitely felt from shadowing trainees that the firm promotes an environment in which taking early responsibility is encouraged.
I found the business exercise extremely useful as it gave me the opportunity to work in a team and develop my ability to negotiate and compromise. Presenting our decision at the end tested our ability to summarise our main points of argument and communicate clearly.
The Company
Due to the open plan nature of the offices, the atmosphere was very approachable and friendly and I met a wide range of people across the firm.
We were given a timetable and RPC information booklet upon our arrival which included all the information about the day. The timetable was kept to very well!
The firm was extemely interested in getting to know each of us and also in offering us as great an insight into the firm as was possible in one day.

I am delighted to be joining the firm in 2014!
The Culture
The drinks event at the end of the day indicated that RPC promotes a good social environment.
I commuted for the Open Day but the costs seemed to be standard for London.
Quite a few bars and pubs around, I wasnt at the firm long enough to explore the nightlife but the location is a great combination of culture and professionalism.
Again I personally was not at the firm long enough to get involved in activities outside of work but trainees definitely highlighted this as one of the many great aspects of the firm.
