The Role
I could never have predicted how much of a varied experience I would gain working in the Trade Parts department of Volkswagen Group UK.
I had a one-to-one meeting with my manager every week, in which we went through my work load and discussed anything which I may be struggling with, or if I wanted something more challenging to work on. My manager was very approachable so I could ask for support whenever I felt I needed it.
My manager was fantastic in giving me responsibility, but was also there to support me whenever I needed it.
My time at Volkswagen Group has really helped to motivate me for my final year of University and has also set me up with various contacts for future work.
The Company
I had a 2-week handover with the previous placement student, which was a fantastic way to start as it meant I could walk through the job each day and then felt confident at the end of the handover that I would be able to take on the role myself!
There were always advertisements on the company extranet showing courses that anyone could sign up for, I was always supported by my manager to go for any course with I thought I would benefit from.

Volkswagen Group would be a great place to build a career due to the wide range of opportunities within the different brands and departments.
The Culture
There were 18 students when I was at Volkswagen Group, and it seems that they are taking more on each year. This is great if you are planning to live in Milton Keynes.
