The Role
A really welcoming and friendly place to work
Felt like I was given actual real work to complete that other people relied on to complete their jobs.
Given lots of support - management was always open and the flat management system meant I could just give my supervisor or director a should if I needed help or needed to book a meeting with them - very informal and friendly
Sometimes my workload meant that the mornings were crazy busy with lots of deadlines around lunchtime and then there wasn't a huge amount to do in the afternoon. I still managed to keep myself busy though!
As I said earlier - was doing real work independently and others relied on my input a huge amount.
I developed my organisational skills and team working stills which will help me in both my university life and when I return to Barclays for the grad scheme next year!
The Company
Really good - everyone got on very well and was very friendly - lots of laughs
Great activities and managed to meet lots of interns and other staff from all departments.
We had a few days of training prior to the internship and also access to many online courses which I made the most out of. They put a lot of time into teaching us how all the systems work.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Recieved an offer for a Grad job starting september 2013.
The Culture
Lots of events and drinks with both my team and the other interns - some arranged by barclays and a lot just organised by ourselves!
Very expensive - not surprising as it was in London.
Average - pretty expensive and not really any clubs but plenty of nice bars. We would head in to the city if we wanted a late one!
Had a couple of days out as part of the internship activities - volunteering in a school and team building activities with all the interns.
