The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship, particularly the people I met, and the opportunities I was given.
I felt like I worked as a team within my intership and did not feel singled out as the intern. I also made a number of friends within my time at PwC
I was given weekly feedback from my job managers which helped me progress throughout my time at the company. This I feel was a key strength within the company as it allowed me to grow and learn throughout the job.
Several of my jobs kept me very busy, and I had a number of tasks to work on during my time there. However, there were a couple of days where I had very little to do and there did not appear to be tasks given to me. I also know a number of interns had much less to do than myself.
I was given quite a lot of responsibility within some of my jobs. One particular client I was in charge of GADM for and dealt with any problems they had had. Another client I was left on site myself for a day and a half to work as my job manager had left so it was just myself on the job.
These skills will come in very hand especially as I have accepted a future job position with the company. It will provide me with the basic skills to develop.
The Company
The atmosphere was good within the office. Everybody was happy to talk and find out more about you which was very welcoming.
My client base changed a number of times a weel which was hard to keep track of. However, the first week training etc and once you were out at a client everything was very well organised.
Each job manager took the time to train us and to ensure I knew what I was doing at all times. They were also happy to further explain any problems I had.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
I have a conditional offer with the company for next year.
The Culture
Each of the interns got on very well and most of us are still in touch.
I lived at home during my time in PwC so living costs etc were the same.
Again, I lived in my home town so the nightlife was what I was used to.
There are a number of options available withi the firm such as sporting groups. However, I don't feel these were necessarily offered to us. However, there were a couple of after work drinks that we were invited to.
