The Role
Work was very tedious, sort of data inputting or pointless work they made up on the spot that won't ever be useful to anyone
Everyone was really nice and helpful :)
Everyone sat down and explained their job to you in detailed, and were happy to answer any sort of questions or just have a nice little chat with you about working life :)
No real work was set aside for us, so you ended up just doing little pathetic type jobs or twiddling your thumbs for quite a while
Again, the structure of the program wasn't beneficial that you didn't get any sort of meaningful work, you did seem to just be in the way a little bit
IT was really good to just be in a office, and see what things are like. Will definitely help with interviews and to hit the ground running on a proper job
The Company
Everyone just wanted to get their work done, which is good, but there wasn't many jokes or giggles being enjoyed in the office
Terrible, it was really poorly structured that meant you suffered alot since there was no work for you to do, people were forced into doing presentations last minute and spent most of it on their blackberries and wouldn't take any questions
You know so much more about the actuarial world after these sort of programs
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Car
Working from home
It was good, you learnt all about the different departments and general interview tips to help you get through the recruitment stages
The Culture
Yeah, but in clusters. Some people seem to be good friends, while being oblivious to those sitting around them.
London, so was always going to be really expensive!!
London - so many clubs, bars, and things to do. Who wouldn't love working in London?
Not really, though people did seem to go to the pub on Fridays in teams
