The Role
Really enjoyed the work and the people.
I felt like I was contributing to the team and socialised with them a few times outside of the office.
My line manager was very friendly and helpful and was more than happy to spend time with me to explain something.
There was always something to do but I never had to stay later than 8 which is reasonable in this industry.
I was working on something completely new within the team.
I learnt a lot about how to code well as well as the maths involved in the models.
The Company
It was pretty quiet and everyone was just getting on with their work which was fine with me. Very professional atmosphere.
HR are very helpful and contactable and it went smoothly enough.
I was an off-cycle intern and started and left slightly ahead of most of the others so I missed the training and development sessions put on by the company. They did have things planned however.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I was offered a job.
The Culture
I did go out a few times with other interns and colleagues.
This is Canary Wharf so it's no surprise that it's expensive.
There are a few nice bars but if I wanted nightlife, I would go out in central London.
The bank do have a good choice of sports clubs and societies which you can join. It's more a question of finding the time.
