The Role
Enjoyed the project but didn't get much exposure to the rest of business.
Because of hot desking, there wasnt always space so sit within the department. Team were out the office a lot too.
Not as much as I would have expected, no formal progress/development reviews. I could tell that the team hadn't had an intern befroe
I was left to manage my time how I liked so it was fine.
Given lots of responsibility for my own project, but that was it. I wasnt given any other tasks.
Developed my own writing and organisation skills, other than that, no formal training/ development received.
The Company
Quite a big office with different people in every day so always lively but didnt build much of a repore.
Things weren't particularly organised, eg laptop and log in not set up. I think that was manly down to the team no having had an intern before
Not much but I understand the graduate scheme does a lot.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Working from home
Fast tracked the graduate assessment process to take part in a assessment centre. Undecided whether the graduate scheme is for me though.
The Culture
Really difficult to socialise with other placements but this is mainly down to working in such a large building.
Fine, neither cheap or expensive
Really good, I was lucky as it was in the town near my university
Not really, most people on the department are older and just go home
