The Role
I was really excited at the start of the two weeks, but towards the end I was bored and just wanted it to end!
Being a work experience student, your obviously not on a par with qualified accountants and you are pretty much just in the way. However, everyone was really nice and friendly
I was given a buddy in my second week, and then just went around the team asking for work. The work was really plain and boring, so it wasn't as if much guidance was needed
It was a case of first week was just presentations, CV work and interview tips (9-5 stuff) Then the second week was in a team and trying to help them, so you were as busy as you wanted to be, since you had to go out and find work.
Not really applicable since it was a work experience/insight program. All the work I was given was researching firms or just simple excel calculations
It was interesting seeing an office and I learnt so much about all the different work in accounting, so career wise decision its really helped out
The Company
Everyone seemed to know each other well and was really friendly. There was alot of jokes made between people in the office
The first week was really planned, the second week not at all really I was dumped into a team that didn't really prepare for me. I had to just go around and ask everyone for any work I could do to help them
They spent the hole first week with us showing us around the office, various company presentations.

I know so much more about BDO as a firm, and about the accounting world - that I'll be able to fly through interviews now :)
The Culture
Everyone was still living at their parents, that at 5 oclock we all sort of went home. However there were a few lunches with the office in the first week.
We didn't go out we all just went home at 5, but its London so would be expensive to rent a place and to go for a nightout
London - top £££ but top clubs!
Not really, we were only there 2 weeks. I did go on a client bowling trip one day after work though
