The Role
I really enjoyed the placement. Have learned a good variety of skills that I can use in my future career.
Feel very valued. I have contributed work to real projects, and so have been regarded as a skilled employee.
Support is always available from my mentor and project team leader. If, in the case that both of these are not available, there are a variety of engineers in your assigned team that are always happy to help an guide if you are having any issues.
I never had too little or too much work. project that were assigned to me would be designed in a 'finished when complete' basis so I would not be overwhelmed. There would be pressue to get the tasks done, however this would again, not be overbearing and would assist in getting the task done efficiently.
I was given more and more responsibility as my placement progressed. As a student engineer, however, you will only be responsible for thequality of your own work.
Aswell as engineering technical skills in software and hardware, I learnt many soft skills, such as communication, time keeping and commitment to a project.
The Company
