The Role
Everyone was really stressed, the atmosphere in the office was bad I even got dragged in on weekends!
Not at all, you are an intern, you are at the bottom of the pile and need to work your way up, and you are reminded of it constantly
Things weren't explained very well, I use to get an email here and there with a half finished piece of work, without much direction and whenever I asked for help people would just say they were busy
Really busy, the work kept coming, I was working long hours, more than 5 days a week and still wasn't getting it all done
You are given graduate, analyst, associate projects to finish off and are expected to complete them to your seniors level. So in this case, you are given real work, real projects and real responbility
The depth, and amount of work you are given, does mean that you learn so, so much. I learnt more about finance, and developed more about my skills than 3 years at Uni!
The Company
It was so stressed and pressured. Nobody enjoyed their job, just their pay check at the end of the month. Everyone would take their anger out on anyone they could - and as interns you are at the frontof the firing line
Really well, they have interns joining teams all year round, and have run the internship program for years, so all the little hiccups have been ironed out. Youa re seamlessly added to the time and expected to hit the ground running
Really well actually, we had loads of training on derivatives, products, IT, programming, so we learnt so much in the first week.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I got rejected, conversion rate was about 33% for interns to graduates
The Culture
Yeah, we were worked so hard Monday - Friday that we use to go out and have fun Friday night, before getting up for the office on Saturday
Your salary is so high you don't care about the price of anything
London clubbing is amazing
Nothing -- there is too much for the team to be doing to be organising out of work events
