The Role
Really good, I definitely think I am going to go into a career in wealth management! It was a really good insight into the career path -- you actually realise what the day to day tasks of a graduate is, rather than just the job description
Really well, everyone is employed based on their intereaction with clients - so everyone treats you with respect and kindness (cause otherwise they wouldn't be in the job!)
I was never left with work I couldn't do, or without indepth step by step instructions on what to do. My manager would come over twice a day to check I understood everything and was always on hand if I needed anything
Wasn't that busy at all to be honest. You are given work to do, to fill your time up, but barely was I even given a deadline, so you can take your time with it
Quite alot of client work - such as meeting clients and reports, that you could easily do something wrong and ruin the client relationship for the firm
My intra personal and team working skills were really developed, but its the insight and knowledge that I gained which will be skills for life
The Company
Everyone was really outgoing, sociable and there was quite a few jokes flying around the office. Everyone was also friends and hungout outside of the office too, which is always good
The first two weeks is all about getting you trained up and settled in the team, then you are just another team member with your own clients
Really well, the first week is an intense week of training - lots of IT/programming and report writing training
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Got a job offer with them for next year :)
The Culture
During the week (and weekends) there is alot of going out with clients, so it was a case of your always out with the team having a laugh thats you bond well with your coworkers
Pretty much every night was covered by the firm or senior personnel!
London has so many bars, shows, clubs etc..
After work there are alot of client entertainment nights, so you go along to them and have a great time with coworkers/clients - really good networking can be done too!
