    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Really good, my team were really friendly and the rest of the interns were party animals so it was a really good fun summer placement!

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • This is something accenture scores full points in. You are not an intern in the sense of not knowing anything, needing everything explained, needing twice as long as everyone else to do a simple task. You are an intern, in the sense you can bring in fresh ideas, something new to the team.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Fantastic -- everyone knew I was from an Economics background and not an accounting background, but they knew I was eager to learn so use to sit down and explain how each project tied into other projects, the importance of the work I was doing - this really helped me get motivated to work rather than feeling like I was just turning a handle

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Busy enough that I always had something I should be doing and didn't get bored. However I wasn't so busy I had to work late or anything

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Unfortunately, the work wasn't that pushing and was more or less just simple pieces for several different projects (so you did get to see the big picture)

    1/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The work was quite simple, that skills wise I didn't improve much. However, I got to see how each piece of work tied into a project, and how that project tied into the business a hole. This was really good. Also seeing exactly what accountants do day in day out, was good - rather than just learning how to do balance sheets in lectures

    2/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was really quite fun -- the Olympics and European championships were on, so most of the internship was filled with talking about sports!

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • From my first day in the team, I had work to be doing, so the team must have obviously planned for work for me to do. The team seemed to be use to having interns,so it was pretty easy to just go in and start working.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • As previously mentioned, the work was rather simple and straight forward. Since training was based on what work you would be doing, this therefore meant the training was pretty basic. If you have previous experience of accounting work, you won't learn much, but its likely you will have a job offer form the internship

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Financial Bonus

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Got a job offer with them for next year -- really big signing on bonus too!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We use to go out and have big nights out on Fridays, along with grabbing lunch together most days. Got to know everyone quite well and hopefully we will all be returning and in the future be different department heads!

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • In comparison to your salary, London socialising is cheap!

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Amazing, so many different bars, cinemas, clubs etc.. great fun!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The graduates are really sociable and do a range of things outside of work, after the first week you'll added to the emailing list and just go along to the things that sound like fun

    4/5
