The Role
The job is very enjoyable and i'm learning a lot of new things
All my colleagues are very helpful and generous with time and advice as we work as part of a team, but still give me large enough responsibilities to feel valued.
Advice and guidance is always readily available
I am kept busy but not to the point of bordom or tiredness. There are times that are busier than others, especially when project deadlines approach.
I was told what needed doing and when, but i was left to tackle these by myself. If i required help i could ask for it and recieve it.
The time management skills have been vital in keeping my uni work up to date and submitted on time. I am also a far more organisedperson than previously.
The Company
Of course there was a lot of work to get done, but it is still enjoyable. Light-hearted banter coupled with activities outside the office (pub linch on Wednesdays etc.) makes my time more enjoyable.
The company clearly has a "well oiled" placement scheme in place. about 4.5% of workers are students.
The company does not necessarily see me as a long term employee, but a student learning how to work in this environment. However, if i impress a job offer may come after my studies are completed.
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
If i impress and require a job after my studies, i can approach them and they are more likely to "fit me in".
The Culture
Many of my student colleagues i know from university so there is a good atmosphere amonst us. There are social events we can attend like sports clubs, and we often do.
The area is quite densely populated so living costs can be high. I grew up in this area and attend university in london so high living costs seem normal to me, biut for others it may be too expensive.
There are clubs etc. but it is an area that most people would avoid the nightlife because of crime.
There are many various sport clubs, social clubs etc. run in the area a few are even linked the Delphi!
