The Role
Very enjoyable placement.
Vast majority of colleagues valued my time and helped me out with anything I struggled with. Just a few one off occasions where individuals could have valued my time more, but nothing to taint the overall experience.
Regular meetings with managers helped us keep in touch about my workload. They were always more than happy for me to take on development opportunities and were always looking for more challenging work for me to take on.
This varied, but on the whole I was never over-worked.
I gained responsibility throughout the year
The variety of work I did and the amount of training courses I went on has given me skills I couldn't have got at uni.
The Company
Social lunches most days and coffee breaks to catch up with colleagues helped break up the working day.
My role had been filled by a placement student every year, so it was clearly defined and well thought out. I had a month handover period to help with the transition.
Plenty of training courses, seminars and talks to attend. I also went on a secondment to a different office to get wider experience.

I would love to go back, but there's no guarantee of a job after placement.
The Culture
Around 20 placement students a year. Great to have friends outside of your own office to socialise with.
Living in London is bound to be expensive, but happy hours in certain bars kept socialising relatively cheap.
Plenty of bars to chose from, most of which have happy hours 5-8pm.
Volunteering opportunities, sports clubs, wine tasting nights and team awaydays.
