The Role
It was good, I enjoyed the training and development days. Office life was good, quite a good balance.
My buddy gave me lots of work and the teams I did work for were great! Although, I was mainly given work by lower grade staff but that's probably to be expected as an intern.
My buddy was fantastic in providing me support whenever I needed it. My people manager was also very helpful when I came to her with queries or requests.
I think the balance is good at PwC, especially in tax! The hours were never really long which is nice. I could have probably been pushed a bit harder and given some more work.
I was given a fair bit of responsibility, I knew if I wasn't doing the work then someone else definitely would have had to do it.
The tax specific training we did at the beginning was great as I had very little technical knowledge. The soft skills exercises probably were less helpful but I have done very similar courses before. The presentation we had to do to partners was very useful.
The Company
It was quite exciting but as it was the Olympics I was there at quite a quiet time work wise.
Well organised regarding development day/training however my people manager could have come up with some projects for me before my arrival.
We had 3 days training and a development day and they gave us a company laptop.
I definitely want to work for PwC, they have a great work life balance!
The Culture
It was okay but mostly self organised, probably could have been better.
I worked in Manchester so it was fairly cheap.
We didn't actually go out in Manchester as a group from work though.
A few but not loads.
