    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Wide variety of work available throughout placement, allowing me to pick up a range of new skills. This made the overall experience quite enjoyable.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Staff were very welcoming and supportive. Staff were very approachable when I encountered any problems or had any questions with regards to the work I was doing.

  • Management often made themselves available to provide support and guidance with work and placement as a whole.

  • Steady flow of work available to keep me occupied, but not always challenging.

  • Other members of staff relied on my work as references in meetings, and to keep track of costs, documents, and issues on the project.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Gained project management skills learnt about the use of electronics in railway industry. Also learnt about railway operations in general. All of which is useful for future jobs prospects in the transport industry and for assisting in my degree studies.

  • Lively office environment. Very relaxed.

  • More planning was required. Beginning of placement was rushed.

  • Lots of training and development relevant to the job was provided, and clear development objectives were made to be met throughout the placement to ensure we gained transferable skills useful for the future.

  • Plenty of opportunities available for placement students to socialise in both a corporate environment and also outside of work.

  • London prices can be pretty expensive.

  • Large city with plenty of places to go visit in terms of Nightlife.
