The Role
Continuous efforts were made throughout the internship to allow us to develop our understanding of the company and industry at large.
Other employees were incredibly friendly and always provided useful insights about how tasks I had completed benefited the team.
The way the internship was structured meant that we received regular guidance and support from managers. We had two official meetings with our manager to discuss our progress but informal discussions were also a regular occurence.
Inevitably there were some days where the volume of tasks that were suited to my level of understanding was not as great, but those days were few and far between.
I think I was given the right level of responsibly given my knowledge of the area.
I gained very valuable technical and soft skills. Most valuable was probably the Excel skills I gained that I will, no doubt, use for life.
The Company
It was a very lively atmosphere, although this was probably a direct result of the crossover between my internship and the Olympics.
From day one the internship was incredibly well run with a great variety of activities planned to supplement the on-the-job learning
They spent a long of time training us on soft and technical skills. They even brought in external trainers.
I was offered a graduate job at the end of my placement
The Culture
In the initial weeks social events were run which allowed interns from different departments to socialise. This continued throughout my internship
Fairly expensive because my office was in central London.
There were a number of bars and pubs within close vicinity
This was a reflection of the time I spent with the company, had I been there for longer I would have had a much greater range of activities available to me.
