The Role
Really good, learnt loads, met loads of people in the industry and got great motivation and excitement for the rest of my career!
People within the team weren't that friendly initially, it was a case of if you do good work you earn their respect. However, after a few weeks you end up making friends in the department regardless
Everyone in the team was really busy, that it was a case of you working on very short/unclear instructions and had to fill in the gaps yourself
Really busy, there was lots going on over the summer and it was a case of all men on deck. I ended up working long hours, but at the end of the day my wage per hour still worked out really good for an intern. Working long hours just for the summer isn't too bad, and you just end up learning loads more!
There was too much work for the team to handle, so quite big projects were handed down to me as I was the only person with capacity, which meant you were given alot of responsibility and real work to do
Really well, the work you do even as an intern is really significant, so the firm makes sure you are trained up to do the work - I even had training in my last two weeks
The Company
Everyone was very work focussed, but the odd joke here and there was mentioned. However, don't expect to come in on Monday mornings and chat over the poor refeering decisions over the weekends football
There was quite a few interns, and the internship scheme had been running for years, so it was really well structured and the team were use to getting 10 week interns in
Loads of training, you are doing real work with the company's logo on - so they train you up and make sure you are good enough to do the work : money is no issue when it comes to training
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Got a graduate job offer with them for next summer :)
The Culture
Yeah, the intern intake was massive, along with first, second and third year graduates we use to go out over the weekend, pretty much every weekend
London is expensive, but you get paid loads!
London - simply the best nightlife in the UK!!
Apart from the weekly night outs, people in the office didn't really do much together out of work
