The Role
It was really good, you get paid (loads!) just for sitting through a week of presentations and spending a second week being a secretary to a team
Between the interns it was quite competitive, as everyone was trying to make a good impression. The second week in the team, everyone was really friendly and took you out and got to know you personally
For the first week you are just sitting there, listening to presentations or various question pannel events. The second week within the team, you are only there for 5 days that its more of a case of seeing if youll fit into the team rather than if you can do the work
The second week you are there till the last team member goes, so you are there for quite long days. However, you are not working intensely and more or less just finding out what work the team actually does and chatting to people to find out about their jobs
Not at all, first week you are sitting through presentations, the second week you are more or less a team administrator
No skills were developed, but the contacts you make and the second year internship offer is so valuable
The Company
Really good, everyone was work focussed but everyone seemed happy to stop and have a chat every now and then. Nobody was ever too busy for a joke!
This low rating is purely that you are only in the team for a week, so you can't help but just feel like your in the way. However, the first week of the program was really well structured with everything planned out on an hour by hour basis!
Again, it was just presentations and admin work when it came down to it, that it wasn't like you got trained up and learnt alot. However, its all done for that internship offer at the end of the week!
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
I got an internship for next summer with them :)
The Culture
Everyone was really competative, but at the end of the day you are all going to be working in different teams and networking across the firm is going to help, so everyone was friendly at the same time. On the Friday night we all went out - we were encouraged too
You get paid so much you don't care about the price of things!
London clubs are so much better than any other city's
You are only there for two weeks, and with a team one week, so you can't really. There didn't seem to be much on either apart from Friday night drinks to be honest
