The Role
Much better than I thought it would be. I was less in control of what I would be doing than I thought, but this turned out to be good because obviously I had no real idea what was actually good for me.
Relaxed but professional. People knew when to laugh and when to get down to work
There wasn't a time when they wouldn't make time for my questions, despite the intern scheme only being a few years old.
There is plenty to do, and if you aren't busy, you tend to make yourself busy to understand it all.
Certainly not running the show, because legally there are some things you can't do as an intern, but I could go along to client meetings, help with pitch books etc.
Without doubt extremely transferable skills
The Company
Serious but dynamic
2 rotations with a good idea of how each week would play out, if not each day each time
Definitely. If the money invested isn't critical for their balance sheet, certainly the time invested can't be overlooked
Company Parties/Events
I do have a graduate offer for summer 2013, provided I get a 2,1
The Culture
Definitely, better than I thought
London, so living in particular is expensive
In the City itself pretty poor, but being London there are other places
Yes, sports and much else
