The Role
I was exposed to a variety of projects and really enjoyed all the work I was given. I also had the opportunity to work with other business areas as well as my own.
I felt very valued and was given real responsibility throughout the internship.
There were weekly meetings with my manager who provided very useful feedback and support, as did my buddy and mentor.
At the beginning of the internship I wasn't too busy, but as I became more familiar with the role and business the workload picked up to an appropriate level.
I was given a good amount of responsibility, not too much I felt overwhelmed but enough to feel like I was providing a valuable contribution.
The skills, knowledge and experience I gained with Amex will no doubt help me in my future career and I really value the experience.
The Company
Everyone works very hard but there are strong bonds with in the team and the atmosphere is not stressful.
There was structure throughout and clear goals set from the beginning. Activities were planned throughout both work related and socially.
There were internal training aspects and the opportunity to develop was clear but there were no official training qualifications associated with my placement.

Working from home
Future opportunities are good and there is chance to gain graduate positions the year after the internship. Further employment in the company is encouraged.
The Culture
The interns all got to spend a lot of time together both in Amex organised and outside events. The organised events were by far one of my favourite parts of the internship.
We socialised a lot, but in Central London it is not cheap.
London nightlife is pretty good!
There were some opportunities (like sport and events) aimed at more long term staff, mostly on the internship you were involved with specific activities for interns.
