The Role
Loved spending the summer in Canary Wharf, really got a sense of the financial industry!
Outside of work hours, we got on well. However, everyone was very preoccupied with their own projects and deadlines - felt stressful at times.
Manager was always there, and willing, to answer and queries I had. I valued this contribution and feedback.
Hours were long, in particular, I logged 80 hours in one especially busy week.
Eased into the work so I was gradually given more meaningful tasks to complete.
Key skills to work at any organisation - in terms of interacting with senior management
The Company
Quite dull in general, not very lively as everyone was very work oriented
Flowed well, and felt as if it had been well thought out and structured accordingly
Lots of feedback from my manager, kept me on track for continual improvement (personal)
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Not many offers given amidst the current economic climate!
The Culture
Had a great time with a few other interns on nights out in London.
Quite expensive, however compensation from JP Morgan was more than adequate to cover these costs.
Very average, not many clubs in the area (Wharf)
Networking dinners were hosted + charity day event
