The Role
Incredibly useful in the sense that I was able to pick up so much on how Barcap worked as an organisation. It was so much more fulfilling that visiting their careers site!
Firm employees were on-hand most of the way, so where possible I was able to network with many, including senior management.
As above. Also, they genuinely wanted to make you understand how Barcap did business.
Listened to many presentations throughout the week. I found the work-shadowing aspect really useful.
No opportunities!
Built upon some aspects of my course, it was interesting to see areas which overlap between you degree and an actual job role.
The Company
It really seemed to be a light-hearted environment, people walking down the corridor would stop to say hi!
For me, it was well-thought out and there was a brilliant structure to the week
A lot, as the presentations were not only given by staff but also personal mentors (external) - able to give personalised feedback after skills sessions.
Subsidised Canteen
Offered summer internship within IBD
The Culture
Better group of people than I had expected, got along really well with most
Ok, however many complained of the costs (it is London though)
Great, however only went out on one night. Most were tired after a full day!
Not really, however there was a networking event hosted for us.
