The Role
In hindsight, it was a productive way to spend a week of easter.
Like-minded people all round, so there was lots to talk about, great bunch!
Not as much as I had hoped for, however lots of information was provided in the form of information packs.
Hours were long, in my opinion, for a spring week. Although we were kept preoccupied throughout most of it.
None, this was a "taster"after all.
Learnt a lot about how RBS operated within the industry, rather than job-specific issues.
The Company
The IBD division seemed to be moving to and fro a lot of the time, i.e. not positioned in front of a computer all the time - this was refreshing to see.
HR did a good job on this front, well setup from start to finish.
Not too much in the way of training was offered, however the group exercises were in terms of feedback.
Company Parties/Events
Already had an internship for summer, so did not pursue this route
The Culture
Yes! All of us stayed in accommodation provided, so there was always somebody up for a good time
It was OK considering that it was almost all paid for.
Again, nothing compares to London. Everyone enjoyed themselves on the nights out
I was surprised by the inclusion of a community-charity project on the last day, felt like this really boosted the image of the company for many people.
