The Role
The culture of Argos is very friendly and most people were always helpful. Social life was great.
I felt very valued by my colleagues, my manager gave me feedback both formal and non formal, and was included in all team meetings so felt like a proper team. My work was highlighted as to how important it was in getting work done
The training was very minimal and 'on the job', my colleagues taught me most things but it would be brief due to their workload. I had to push to get support and guidance sometimes.
During peak and near selection i was very busy, but i would say i was not regularly busy, but was most of the time once i got more competent in my job role. I would have to work longer hours most of the time.
I was given a lot of responsibility, more than my job role required, but this does depend on what team you work with.
I obtained a great understanding of the retail business so i can apply my knowledge in my studies, especially anything to do with profit, margins and competitor pricing.
The Company
It was always friendly, and had a good laugh everyday!
The process was very quick from first interview to getting the job, and they were great at getting all the interns to get to know each other.
Very basic. Most of it was 'learn on the job'. There are training courses but they arent advertised well enough and to the right people who need it. Some managers are better are getting interns onto courses then others as well.

Very appealing for me, i enjoyed my experience and the liked the people i worked with and would get good experience in the job role i wish to progress in
The Culture
Great social scene with interns and work colleagues at Argos.....went out pretty much every Friday and even Saturday because the ngiht life was just down the road.
Pretty cheap place to live and a lot of places to socialise at, and lots of leisure activities
Very good, a large mixture of bars and clubs ranging from low to high price ones
None that i was aware of, but i am sure there are clubs/classes.
