The Role
Everyone in the team was really welcoming, offered lots of help and encouraged me to ask lots of questions. After the 8-weeks they arranged a leaving meal for me and the entire team attended.
We were assigned a buddy on our first day in the office and given an introduction by our supervisor. As I wasn't sat next to my buddy I asked most questions to the person I was sat next to, but to be honest anyone was happy to answer questions and explain things.
My workload was very variable. Some days I couls have not much to do so I'd read up on the 'current issues' and do small jobs such as proof reading reports/letters. Other days I was really busy and completed a range of 'chargeable' work
The placement wasn't related to my degree
The Company
Everyone on the RRF floor was really lovely and supportive.
There was no work structure set up so our workload depended on that of our buddy and suggestions from the team. This meant at times work was quite light. However, the first day was explained well both on the day and prior to arriving at the office. There was an intern project that was was well-organised also.
We did not receive any 'official' training but I personally received regular feedback
Subsidised Canteen
I have accepted a graduate job
The Culture
We regularly organised drinks/meals with all the interns. The interns in RRF organised a 'Softball Tournament' that we held in Green Park an evening after work which was really successful. Whilst we were there the Actuarial results came out so lots of the actuarial students went out for drinks.
