The Role
I found the work really interesting and learned loads.
I felt that my work was useful to the other employees in my team, they even used the tool I developed while I was there.
Any questions I had were answered quickly and well, I didn't feel lost or confused at any point.
Although I had plenty of work to do, it was a relaxed environment under the agile methodology - we set our own pace.
Another intern and I were given full responsibility for our task, however this task did not affect the other employees work (so we couldn't break their code by mistake)
I learned a great new programming language, Scala, as well as all sorts of good programming practices and information on how banks work.
The Company
Friendly, but not overly chatty. We did play basketball with the team every Wednesday which was great fun.
The internship was organised - there were talks and presentations which we attended and mid/end of term reviews.
We were given a two day training course, as well as the time taken out of employees days to help and teach us.
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Would definitely be interested in applying for their graduate scheme
The Culture
Yes!
Living wasn't too bad if you hunt around, but going out was expensive - but worth it in london!
Good, though we required people who knew London well to find the good places.
As well as basketball every wednesday lunchtime, we had a community day in a park in north london where we improved parks and paths etc.
