The Role
Really enjoyed it for the most part. Challenging, enjoyable and a really nice place to work.
Became a vital member of the time by the time I left.
Plenty support and guidance at the start, but the requirement for this tailed off after a few months as I became more comfortable in the role. Even after that though, any time I needed support, the whole management team were more than helpful.
Perfect balance for the most part. There were some imbalances (in both directions) at points but this was more due to management changes than anything else.
By the end of my placement I felt like I was a full-time member of staff with as much, if not more responsibility than others in the department. Even early on in my placement, I was given the lead role in a number of high profile projects.
Provided me with a vital opportunity to use the skills I had learnt in university in a practical environment.
The Company
Really enjoyable place to work. Small team so got to know everyone well.
In terms of workload, it wasn't hugely organised. I had to seek out extra work at time.
Was put on some training courses which benefitted me. The work experience opportunities I was given gave me great chances for development.

The Culture
Majority of people working on site were much older.
Lived in Edinburgh through choice which was more expensive, probably would have been cheaper living in Dunbar.
Again, being in Edinburgh, the nightlife was good. Not sure how it would be closer to station.
Plenty of people organising sports events outside of work. Not too much done company-wise but the odd event.
