The Role
Interesting work on a good variety of clients. Colleagues were also extremely good fun to work with.
Explicitly told and made to feel valued.
Huge amount of soft and hard skills training prior to beginning placement and during. There is a good culture of helping one another out on jobs. More senior personnel did not shy away from putting in time to help me out.
This varied on the time of year. Often able to do very reasonable days from 9am until just after 6pm. During the busy season, January to April, I was extremely busy and could be in the office until after midnight with earlier starts. How busy I was varied by clients. I was never bored.
By of the placement I was doing a relatively important jobs in certain areas of my work. Felt depended upon.
Accounting information very useful in any accounting modules. More general professional training and experience will set up well for any future jobs, hopefully helping me to stand out.
The Company
Generally good, not overly stressful and it was fun at times.
Essentially joined the 1st year graduate scheme. Never had any questions go unanswered. Excellent training and good training review documents provided. Felt well supported throughout. A very professional job was done.
Followed all the 1st year training including a considerable time out at a college working towards my ACA qualification.
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
On completion of 9 ACA exams I was offered a 2nd year graduate job, on the condition of getting a 2:1.
The Culture
Encouraged to network within the first few months with PwC paying for a few nights out. A generally fun group of colleagues, not just across my level.
Living in London and socializing there is expensive.
PwC are big on community work. Spent a day helping to maintain Highgate cemetery.
