The Role
The work was interesting and challenging. You were given client work to do as well as work for eth department. You were never left to twiddle your thumbs and the work was interesting. .
The team make you feel very welcome and do listen to what you have to say on certain subjects. The team was a friendly constructive environment.
You were given a mentor for you time with the company. This was someone you could go to, to ask questions of varying nature. The mentors were very approachable and really helped.
Very busy. There is always something to do. You get given longer term projects as well as day to day items.
During the placement you are given a high level of responsibility. As mentioned, you have client exposure and deal with projects that the rest of the team work on.
Sometimes you pick up skills you didn’t realize you needed. I think that most of the tings you go through in a summer placement can come up again after in your career. At the work placement stage it is more about picking up what you can and then developing it as you move on in your career.
The Company
Very well. Timetables and agendas were always given. All the teams and secretaries knew what was going on. The computers and phones were all set up for our arrival.
The firm invested in me from day one. The investment and attitude of the firm was incredible. If I had not had the backing then there is no way I would be in this position that I am now.
