The Role
The team I worked with made the job enjoyable and helped me to learn a lot.
I feel like I was valued by my colleagues as I played a role in their day to day project work.
The management system was very supportive. I was given a mentor who helped me with my certifications whilst on placement at Cisco.
I was busy on a daily basis, from lab maintenance to project work.
I was given a fair amount of responsibility, being trusted to run the buildings digital media system and being trusted to work on customer projects along with engineers.
I have been assisted in learning new skills whilst on placement including the chance to study for Cisco certifications, in which other members of the team were very helpful.
The Company
Good atmosphere, I got my own desk amongst the other staff.
The placement was well organised and I have a clear role in the team.
The company invested heavily in me, paying for certifications I wanted to take whilst there.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I would be happy to work at Cisco again, hopefully this chance will come once I have completed university.
The Culture
I got on well with the other interns and staff and management made an effort to host team events/ days.
I worked in Reading and found it an expensive area in which to live.
The nightlife was good.
I played badminton every Monday and went to the gym. Whilst at Cisco I also got the chance to go to Cisco house at the Olympic park, to go and watch ATP tennis at the o2 in the corporate box as well as other fun activities put on by the department (including banana boating).
