The Role
The program that I was on at Cisco is one of the greatest, most unique internship programs in the world.
All my team were very welcoming, especially considering I was working in a foreign country - I felt like I had never left home.
My manager proved to be very patient in the early stages with my development, and I felt I could approach him with any queries.
Cisco's flexible working patterns meant that if I worked extra one day then I could start later on the following day. This helps to enable a positive work-life balance.
Working with groundbreaking new technologies, and collaborating closely with colleagues and executives - I never felt like an intern, I felt valued as an employee.
I picked up industry standard certifications, and invaluable business skills that will leave me in a very strong position when I graduate.
The Company
Hard-working and fast-paced but everyone works alongside each other collaboratively.
A very positive experience. Onboarding made me feel very welcome from the first week.
Any avenues for development that were relevant to my team's work I was allowed to pursue.

Working from home
I'm currently working part-time for Cisco in my final year of university.
The Culture
Made some great friends during my year with Cisco.
Silicon Valley is relatively cheap compared to London...
Pretty good nightlife, though expensive.
Lots. Sports, recreation etc.
