The Role
I really enjoyed working for EDF Trading this summer. I always wanted to work in the Energy sector and I was not disappointed! EDF Trading has a strong business model and it is a real pleasure to learn from experts.
I really felt every one was available for me and trusted me. The project I was given was of real interest for the team. I was progressively given responsibilies and given the chance to be involved during meetings.
I really felt supported as a team member and was given the means to take advantage of the 10 weeks of internship. However, entrepreneurship spirit is really valued and appreciated at EDF Trading. You need to show that you can come up with ideas!
I was involved in the daily processes of risk control management and spent the rest of the time working on my project and learning about market risk processes. I was never too busy but always had something on!
I was involved in the daily processes of risk control management. At the end of the internship I had to present my project to Top Management.
As a Risk Manager, you need to be polyvalent. I gained extra knowledge about the commodity markets and developed my programming skills. Those are skill I really wanted to develop and that make sense for my future career.
The Company
The atmosphere is pretty serious on the business support side, but it does not prevent the teams to have fun while drinking coffee or tea. Almost every week, someone brought breakfast and we often went out all together for lunch
No comment. The organization was perfect. We (the interns) always knew what was going in the company. The objectives were clear. HR organized a lot of events for the interns.
We had special learning sessions of specific business units organized just for us and we attended an Introductory Course to Commodities delivered by a famous Commodity book writer.
