The Role
It was an enjoyable experience, and I chose to do a longer than minimum internship.
My opinion was treated like I was a regular employee, and people were extremely friendly, with out of work trips etc. to get to know people.
My supervisor was an extremely good engineer, conducted regular meetings to see how I was getting on, and was normally available if I needed to ask something.
I rarely ran out of work.
I was trusted to write code which appeared in production.
I learnt a great deal about new programming methodologies, which help my external projects, and will be handy in my future career.
The Company
It was a nice office, and I enjoyed seeing my co-workers.
Everything was very well prepared for my arrival.
My manager was mostly in charge with this, and invested a lot of time and effort in me.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Would be content to work for them in the future.
The Culture
I spent plenty of time with other interns, and we were offered money to go out and meet each other. We did that, but then didn't bother to redeem the money!
Got accommodation at College, which is good value. Cambridge is generally fine.
I don't really go out clubbing. People seemed fine with it. Plenty of pubs!
There were video games sessions, a choir and company trips out.
