  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • It was an enjoyable experience, and I chose to do a longer than minimum internship.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • My opinion was treated like I was a regular employee, and people were extremely friendly, with out of work trips etc. to get to know people.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • My supervisor was an extremely good engineer, conducted regular meetings to see how I was getting on, and was normally available if I needed to ask something.

    • I rarely ran out of work.

    • I was trusted to write code which appeared in production.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I learnt a great deal about new programming methodologies, which help my external projects, and will be handy in my future career.

    • It was a nice office, and I enjoyed seeing my co-workers.

    • Everything was very well prepared for my arrival.

    • My manager was mostly in charge with this, and invested a lot of time and effort in me.

    • Would be content to work for them in the future.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • I spent plenty of time with other interns, and we were offered money to go out and meet each other. We did that, but then didn't bother to redeem the money!

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • Got accommodation at College, which is good value. Cambridge is generally fine.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?

    • I don't really go out clubbing. People seemed fine with it. Plenty of pubs!

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

    • There were video games sessions, a choir and company trips out.
