The Role
Very interesting work, friendly team & a great overall experience.
Regularly given challenging tasks directly related to the pitch/deal the rest of the team was working on.
All questions/queries were answered - had to be proactive in asking for guidance. Received ample support from different members of the team.
90-100 hour weeks regularly, including most weekends. To be expected in IBD really.
Given the pen on a number of pitches/presentations. Integrated as almost a full member of the team with the responsibility to match.
Refined a number of soft skills including time management, teamwork, attention to detail. Actual work quite different from degree studies.
The Company
Work hard. Play hard.
HR regularly organised a number of informative/networking events and ensured times/locations were given out well in advance.
Went through 1 week of training at the start & received ample support from the team to ensure I was up-to-speed with what I needed to know to be in a position to return value.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Very good organisation to work for. Highly recommended.
The Culture
Frequently went for drinks with the team. Allowing for time constraints given the nature of the work.
Canary Wharf is expensive, but the bulk of costs are taken care of by the company.
Plenty of opportunities if and when you have the time.
Football tournaments organised by some members of the team.
