    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • At the start It felt like I was thrown into the deep end, but once you get the hang of the work you understand everything well. I'm glad I was treated just like any other employer

    • I felt like an automatic addition to the team. My team was great and I was sad to have to leave them.

    • My manager and supervisors were very clear what was expected of me and were well award of my position as just an intern.

    • I had enough work to keep me engaged, however it wasn't so much that I didn't have any breathing room.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • I was working with a Scrum methodology so I was expected to take responsibility over my work, however I wasn't trusted with some major components due to my lack of experience

    • This placement has set me up perfectly for both university and jobs in the future

    • The office atmosphere was generally pretty fun, though at times you had to keep your head down and get on with your work.

    • It was organised just like any other employees

    • Apart from on the job training, there wasn't much more.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • We all got along quite well and went on loads of nights out together

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • Portsmouth was about average, though a night out could get expensive.

    • As expensive as it was, portsmouths night life was great
