The Role
IT was a great experience and a really fun place to work.
Everyone appreciates eachother as it is very busy which means working as a team. Each person is vital in ensuring the company works.
There was always advice there but I was encouraged to learn from my mistakes and gain knowledge this way rather than be told step by step every day.
Due to the seasonal nature of the industry there were some days which were a bit quieter. However some days there werent enough hours in the day.
After a brief induction I was given an area to specialise in and left to deal with it. This meant dealing with suppliers and clients on a daily basis.
I believe the skills learnt will be very useful in the future. Things like telephone manor I have learnt are extrmeley important. Also it has given me a lot of confidence which I will take back to university with me
The Company
The office was always busy but everyone still managed to create a good atmosphere. We had trips away together and people socialised out of work too which made it a great office.
The company had already had placement students before me so they knew what jobs would be appropriate. They also had a trial day so both parties could see if I would be suitable for the role.
On first arriving I had a couple of days to improve my knowledge and learn the basics. The main way of learning was through asking questions, which everyone was happy to help with. We also had a couple fo trips away to suppliers we work with which helped greatly.

The Culture
The whole company was very sociable. Most people were out playing golf together at the weekend or just relaxing after work.
Living in London wasnt cheap. However there are good transport links but train travel is very expensive.
6 pubs within about 2 minutes walk. Also near to central London with night buses and late trains was very good.
We had a few work trips and played 5 a side every so often.
