The Role
The company have a well structured student program, with many aspects incorporated to ensure that the student is valued as much as a permanent member of staff.
People in the company were extremely approachable and always offering advice. There are many of opportunities to know your colleagues outside of work through social events and many people become extremely close friends in the year that you're there.
My team were extremely supportive throughout my entire placement, guiding me through every aspect of my work and helping me with the burden of university work when needed.
Theres always an opportunity to develop at the company, within your own department or in other departments, with a project and experiencing other areas which I may not have been so familiar with every day was interesting and I managed to build up a large portfolio of skills.
I was in charge of driving my own project with occassional guidance from my other colleagues.
There were many aspects I had acquired on placement that I didn't realise full til I had left, such as organisational and time management. The company also offer you extensive training on many skills that would be advantageous future careers such as presentation training and a CV building workshop.
The Company
Perfect balance, an enjoyable place to work which increased productivity
The placement exceeded my expectations and it was a fantastic year, however year on year suggestions are made by the students to improve the set up, which are taken into consideration. Meaning that the company are ahead of other companies for student placements and improving year after year.
The students are important to the company which is evident by the way we were treated.

Leading in science there is alot more potential in this company as year after year they are improving every aspect of the company. Becoming internationally recognised for their exceptional science as well as their products.
The Culture
With eight students, it was great to meet knew people and experience a knew city/ area together, there were plenty of trips at weekends and in the evenings, I've made some very close friends over the last year.
The area was a lot more expensive than I was used to after living further north, especially in restaurants/bars/clubs/cinemas
Not as good as the city I reside in currently, however there was still a large of variety of pubs and clubs and a few hidden gems which many of my work colleagues were aware of already, such as The Hobbit and I'd recommend a pub crawl in Winchester.
There were always opportunities posted on the bulletin board by sports and social or other colleagues, such as paintballing, ascot, playzone, go karting
