The Role
I very much enjoyed my time at E&Y, the whole team made an effort to make me feel welcome and gave me a good all round view of what it would be like to work for E&Y in the future.
My colleagues were very welcoming and trusted me to carry out imporant tasks. They were also very available and very helpful if I was struggling.
My counsellor was fantastic, he was very helpful and always responded very quickly if I needed to ask questions and regularly went through my feedback with me. My Buddy and the rest of the team were also supportive and easy to approach.
My internship was during one of the quieter periods, but I was given as much work as possible given these circumstances
Clearly at the moment I don't have the skills to allow me to have a great deal of responsibility, however given that this was the case, I felt the team gave me as much responsibility as I could have hoped for.
My internship was really helpful in developing my skill set - particularly my people skills which was really useful because people skills are not something which are always focused upon / improved during studying.
The Company
We often had team drinks after work and team meals, so everybody was very relaxed with each other and got on really well. There was also a lot of trust in each other which I think is important for a good working atmosphere
There was regular contact from the summer internship teams and all events and the induction were very well organised.
The induction weekend was helpful - however one comment would be that since I was going to a pensions actuary team, with the hope of training as an actuary, covering the accounting exam formats etc at the summer induction was not useful or helpful to me. Other than that members of my team throughout the internship regularly took time out to give me training sessions.
Company Parties/Events
I very much look forward to working at E&Y, the company appears to take a great deal of interest in all its employees
The Culture
Yes, I reguolarly attended social events (meals, balls, drinks) with both colleagues and placement students.
Average
The nightlife was good with lots of variety
Yes although I was only there for 6 weeks so this is obviously not going to be endless.
