The Role
The experience was great and I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to pursue a career in accounting to go to one of Ernst and Young's insight days.
There was a great working environment. People were very nice and supportive. Had no problems and met some very nice and interesting people.
Although rated 9 stars its not because they held your hand and showed you how to do everything. They left you to do the work and figure it out for yourself. They would however, help if you were having serious problems but there was just the right balance.
You were very busy, though not swarmed with so much work that you couldn't handle it. They made sure there was enough work so that you wouldn't ever be doing nothing but not so much that you were stressing over the workload.
You were given a task and assigned to a group to complete it. Therefor, you had a fair amount of responsibility though really when you were within the group it was up to you to decide how much responsibility you would like to take on.
The skills and training were second to none. All the skills you have were harnessed in a way as to apply them to an everyday working environment. You also developed the skills that you didn't yet posses that are crucial for succeeding in business.
The Company
I wouldn't go as far to say the fun never stopped. However, there was a great amount of camaraderie between all staff, a very enjoyable experience.
The whole time there was extremely well organised. They had a very structured plan and implemented it perfectly.
It was only an insight day so I couldn't say they invested a lot in my personal training or development. Although, if you do manage to get to one they e-mail you about up coming placements and give you the opportunity to put your application in before it opens up online.

There is good employment prospects as you are 'fast tracked' meaning that you get the opportunity to express to the company the placements you would like to undertake in the future before they are revealed online.
The Culture
I couldn't say as it was only a one day placement. Though the people were very nice and you did met some interesting people.
It wasn't cheap as it was London. However, it was only a day event and the company paid for all my travel and accommodation expenses, you also got food at the event so it really didn't cost anything.
It was in London, so the nightlife was pretty good you could do anything you like as London pretty much caters for everyones interests.
Again, it was only a one day placement so didn't spend very much time at the organisation to get involved in that aspect of the organisation.
