The Role
I liked that we were given actual tasks similar to those you would be doing if you joined Ernst and Young, instead of just being told about what they do.
The group exercises were really good at getting everyone involved and everyone had a chance to do something.
Each group had a leader who was with us to give some guidance if we needed it, but sorting the main tasks and presenting was left mainly to us.
We fit quite a lot into the day, so you weren't ever just sitting there - apart from during breaks. At times it did feel that we had a lot to do in a short space of time, but it was setting us up for the real world.
When we were given our client briefs, we were given free reign as to what we wanted to ask the clients and how we wanted to set out our presentation. We were given information, and it was up to chose what we found relevant. Obviously, when we were given presentations about Ernst and Young, we weren't in charge.
I was given really good feedback on how I could improve my presentation/communication skills, which I've since put into practice. Also the business skills we learnt have given me a better sense of how to tackle certain things.
The Company
Everyone was excited for the day and up for a challenge.
It was pretty well structured in how they set the day out.
They made sure that we were given the good information and guidance to complete our client brief.
Through the Insight Day, they told us about the different school leaver opportunities that they have. The school leaver opportunities give a good chance of gaining a job at the end of your chosen route.

We didn't actually do anything outside of work, but they did tell us that there are different opportunities to get involved with social activities with colleagues and through the company.
