The Role
I managed to get a real insight into what it is like working there and felt that the people and culture at the company create a brilliant environment for me to excel in the future.
A combination of working in team projects, team socials and CSR activities ensured that I felt valued and got to know all colleagues on my team.
Personal development plans were set at the beginning of the year and regular meetings were used to follow up on my progress in achieving my goals.
Due to the nature of the work I was dealing with there were times that I was not busy at the beginning of my placement, however when audit season came round in January I was really busy and involved.
At first I was given a lot of guidance but as I progressed and showed initiative I was allowed to go away and work on pieces of work on my own, coming together with team members in regular meetings to show my progress.
My work ethic that I put in place in my placement will be carried forward to my university studies to ensure that I will achieve a first class degree. And the training I received is relevant to some of my modules at University and will be used when I return to EY.
The Company
The atmosphere was professional but everybody on the team was approachable.
On behalf of EY the placement was brilliantly organised. However, the University of Liverpool was extremely unhelpful and un-organised, which would deter me from recommending anybody from this University to complete a placement year!
During my placement I undertook professional exams and training that will be necessary for my future career.

I have received a graduate offer for September 2013.
The Culture
A week long induction at the beginning of the placement encouraged all placement students to get to know each other. There were a few more socials organised during the year.
London Bridge is quite expensive however it was affordable on the salary that was received.
There are lots of good bars and restaurants in the area.
There were team socials, a CSR activity and an out of work social to Thorpe Park.
