The Role
An amazing four days that were extremely busy but very worthwhile.
The Barclays HR team were very helpful, friendly and definitely improved the whole experience. The business leaders that we networked with made us feel very welcome and were very willing to talk to us.
We were very clear of the aims of the programme and what was expected of us.
It was an extremely busy few days but it was good to learn so much in such a short space of time. The first day is very tiring, particularly due to the early start and late networking drinks.
As it was only a four day programme it wasn't really the situation to be given a lot of responsibility. On the two half days I spent in different areas of the business I felt trusted to do worthwhile work.
The whole experience taught me a lot about finance, Barclays market position and business make up and generally gave me a lot of useful experiences to take forwards in my career.
The Company
There was a clear competitive aspect to everyone on the programme but we all got on well and it was an enjoyable few days.
The organisation was brilliant and every activity was efficient.
They developed our competencies and employability skills both relevant to Barclays and a career in finance in general.
If you successfully complete the programme they will fast track you to an assessment centre for a summer placement.
The Culture
Dinner every evening and staying in a hotel with everyone was very sociable.
The travel and accommodation costs were paid by Barclays.
Only a 3 day programme.. didn't get much chance to go out!
