The Role
I really enjoyed my placement. The opportunities for development were amazing compared to friends placements. The team atmosphere and getting to see the other placement students were a bonus too!
There were times when I felt I wasn't really needed but most of the time people were happy to have the help and eager to train me.
There was always someone to go to if I had a problem.
I was often very very busy but I enjoy being busy and constantly challenged so it was something I enjoyed.
The responsibility increased throughout the year but it was never too much to manage. If I felt it was too much too soon somebody was always there to help out. After leaving the placement I found I really missed the responsibility, I never thought i'd get the chance to run my own store at 20!
I really feel that both my professional and personal skills developed throughout the year. These skills will hopefully help me attain a good degree and do well after Uni. When visiting Graduate Fairs employers are often interested in the fact that I did a placement at Lidl as it's very well respected!
The Company
Everybody works hard and there is very little downtime but I feel that this really pulled the team together as everybody had a part to play.
The only bad point was turning up on my first day at store and nobody knowing I was coming! Apart from that everything from the application process to the end of the placement was very well structured.
Did everything they could!
Company Parties/Events

The Culture

There were the Lidl Olympics whilst I was there which brought together people from every Region.
