The Role
An extremely enjoyable few weeks and got the chance to network and meet a range of interesting and insightful individuals.
My colleagues made me feel welcome and would often check if I was getting on with my work okay.
We were given an individual member of management to help us with any queries. They really helped especially when I was having some difficulties (IT related!)
I was given work throughout and had time to reflect on what I had learned. When I didn't have work it was easy to get hold of more.
I was given sufficient responsibility and control over certain sections once I had built up my confidence. I wasn't made to feel under pressure.
I learnt how to use an array of sources such as Companies House and I believe in the future this may be beneficial for my training.
The Company
The office was enjoyable, people always appeared to be in good spirits which helps especially when you are only there for a few weeks!
I received joining instructions well before I started the placement and apart from one IT issue initially everything went smoothly.
We went on an initial 3 day training programme which really helped, but I would say I learnt most while on the job.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I have secured a job offer in the sector I worked in during my placement.
The Culture
Yes! Most interns are roughly the same age so there was a core group of us who always met up after work.
It was fairly expensive (compared to my university town) but the student loan should help out!
The nightlife was no different to nights out at university.
There were opportunities to participate in sports teams but I didn't participate.
