The Role
I really enjoyed the internship purely because of the people. I had such a great support network at KPMG which really helped. My mentor was really helpful in all aspects.
I was never left in the dark as there was always someone I could go to for help with areas, which made me feel secure during my brief time there.
We were assigned a mentor from day one whom we met regularly and they were our main source of pastoral care. Generally, they point you in the right direction if they weren't able to give you a straight up answer.
Pretty busy! I was put on clients in the middle of their "busy season" so I was working non-stop throughout my time there. I still made sure that I made it to all the socials though!
I felt that a lot was expected of me which I thought was great as I enjoy responsibility.
My interpersonal skills have been harnessed greatly and also we had to take part in a group presentation and I feel that my public speaking skills have also taken a turn for the better.
The Company
The atmosphere was great, I felt really welcomed on the introductory day which helped me get settled thereafter.
There were a few minor hiccups such as IT issues but other than that everything went smoothly.
The firm provided us with a few days of training and took us out on numerous occasions to network.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I have been informed that I was successful in obtaining a graduate job.
The Culture
Definitely, there weren't too many in my service line so I got to know most people on first name terms.
London is generally more expensive than your typical university town however you can still make ends meet.
Nightlife in London from what I've heard is good, unfortunately we didn't have much time to sample it.
There were a range of activities which were promoted by email and through internal notice boards which interns could be a part of.
