    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the opportunity however there were times when I wasn't as busy as I thought I would be.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • A lot of my colleagues especially seniors were very busy and some had little time to explain my work fully to me. This wasn't ideal.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was assigned a counsellor and a buddy. Both of which were really supportive. My buddy took me out to lunch on the first day which I thought was really nice of KPMG

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This varied, sometimes I would be rushed off my feet and other times I would be sent to shadow senior staff.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a good level of responsibility for my own work which I fully appreciated.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I had to attend many meetings so I would say my note taking skills dramatically increased.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Most graduates and interns sat together so there was a great atmosphere.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • On the whole everything went smoothly. I particularly enjoyed the first week where we were in training and at the end of the week took part in a big CSR project!

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company provided all costs for my training and provided opportunities for the interns to mingle, such as the initial buddy barbecue which was great!

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I have been accepted onto the graduate programme so all the hard work paid off!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Definitely, there were quite a few interns but due to the many social events I got to know quite a few.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Expensive to say the least! A packed lunch every day helps mitigate this issue though!

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Excellent, London is always a good laugh.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were scheduled activities for the interns as well as the normal activities for regular employees which we were told we could be a part of
